Berkeley, CA

Age: 39
Occupation: Architectural Designer
This will be Chris’ first SSS TransPac race and his first trip to Hawaii. Having been an avid follower of the race for the past ten years he’s decided enough with the virtual followings and time to observe from the reality of his own boat at the back of the fleet. With a PHRF of 243 Chris feels confident he and Carroll E will be in good shape to realize this. Chris’ goals for the race are: to throw the list of “things to do” over-board, not get caught in the Pacific High, catch a fish, enjoy the sail and finish before the deadline.
Chris grew up sailing on the East Coast with his parents; from his father he learned about shorthanded sailing, as it was usually just the two of them. Most of his racing experience comes from sailing Lasers and 420’s on Buzzard’s Bay, MA.
Navigation: 2 Garmin handheld GPS, sextant and HO-249 tables.
